Mr. Jimmy Gentry has been an important educator and contributor of North Carolina Agriculture for over 40 years. Mr. Gentry received his Bachelor's degree in Agriculture Education from North Carolina State University in 1972. In 1980, he received a Master's degree in Agriculture Education from NC A&T State University, and in 1990 he earned his School Administration Certification. Mr. Gentry has contributed to North Carolina's education by serving as teacher and administrator for several schools. He currently serves as President of NC State Grange and Vice President of National Grange. Due to all of his incredible efforts to support and improve North Carolina Agriculture, he was the recipient of the Excellence in Agriculture Award, presented at the 12th Annual Breakfast with the Commissioner event in 2017. 

We are grateful for Mr. Gentry's partnership in continuing eudcational programming at the Tobacco Farm Life Museum. 

The Honors and Memorials Program...

was begun by the Tobacco Farm Life Museum in order to preserve the unique heritage and history of individuals, families and companies who make up the North Carolina farming community.  The information gathered by this program provides resources for historians, authors and individuals looking for family lineage.
