From his birth in 1919, Ralph Scott lived the life of the agriculturalist: nurturing his father's crops, his own crops, and the crops of his son Eddie. In tune with nature, he gathered from the soil a livelihood, food and sustenance, and great pleasure. Family members were always with him - teaching him, assisting him, or receiving his help and wisdom.

His hobbies and pleasures were also from the natural resources of our area. Fishing the lakes, rivers and oceans and hunting the fields and forests filled his leisure time.

Ralph Scott was a member of the Kenly United Methodist Church, the St. Mary's Young Farmers' Club, and various farm and hunting organizations.

Daddy taught us to work hard and do the job well, then to enjoy the free time that was earned. He enjoyed working with his family and he enjoyed his leisure with them, also.

With the heritage and wisdom of his forefathers, Ralph Scott looks toward the future through the eyes of his grandson, Brandon.
