Virtual Field Trips
Let us bring the field trip to you!
Our virtual field trip programming has been specifically designed for 1st grade students but is applicable for all elementary grade levels.
Currently, there are five free virtual field trips available and each consists of a 10-13 minute recorded tour of exhibits in the museum’s gallery or historic buildings. Worksheets are available below for 1st grade classes which adhere to NCSCS standards.
For an extra fee of $10 you can schedule an artifact discovery session with one of our staff. During the 30 minute artifact discovery session, students will discover the history of different artifacts, what they are made out of, and why they were important to the farming community.
Our current virtual tour options include:
-
The Country Store
-
One-Room School House
-
The Brown Family Homestead
-
Blacksmith Shop
-
"Fun on the Farm" - Music Wall
If interested in the additional Artifact Discovery Session, please email Melody Worthington at director@tobaccofarmlifemuseum.
These resources were made possible by funding from the NC CARES: Humanities Relief Grant from the North Carolina Humanities Council.
